Gynecology is the study of diseases of the female reproductive organs, including the breasts. The physician who specializes in gynecology is called a gynecologist. To learn more about specific gynecological conditions click here.
Infertility is the inability or diminished ability to produce offspring. The condition may be present in one or both of the sexual partners and is usually reversible. Physicians investigating the cause of infertility may do special testing of both partners as well as a complete medical exam. Among the factors responsible for infertility are abnormal reproductive systems, infections, STD's (sexually transmitted diseases), endocrine disorders and emotional problems.
